Carey Price, the celebrated Canadian goaltender, has been selected for induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class, a testament to a career that blended junior brilliance with NHL excellence.
From WHL Prospect to Hall of Fame
Price spent four seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League, compiling an 83‑79‑18 record with 15 shutouts in 193 appearances and earning both WHL and CHL Goaltender of the Year honors in 2007.
The Montréal Canadiens drafted him fifth overall in 2005, and he soon became one of the franchise’s most reliable net‑minders, amassing more than 350 NHL victories while capturing a Hart Trophy, an Olympic Gold Medal and numerous other accolades.
Although his final NHL appearance came on April 29, 2022, Price remains under contract through the 2025‑26 season, keeping him tied to the game at a high level as he prepares for his Hall of Fame induction.
His journey from a small‑town prospect in Canada to an Olympic champion and Hall of Famer reflects not only personal perseverance but also the enduring impact of Canadian hockey on the world stage.
