A Familiar Face in a New Arena
Carlton Bragg, a 30‑year‑old power forward, is back in Lawrence to compete for KU’s JHX Hoops in the 2026 TBT, a summer tournament that draws former college stars back to their roots.
Having worn the Kansas jersey earlier in his career, Bragg left the university to pursue professional opportunities in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas, building a résumé that spans Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Canada, the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, Kosovo, Israel and Rwanda.
A Summer of Opportunity
The tournament’s prize money adds a tangible incentive, but Bragg says the chance to reconnect with the university’s culture and its fans is equally compelling. He was recently approached by former teammates Frank Mason and Jamari Traylor, who urged him to join the JHX roster.
On the court, Bragg has already logged 15 points and nine rebounds for JHX, and his best showing came against KSU’s Purple Reign, where he scored seven points and pulled down four rebounds in 22 minutes. Coach Sherron Collins has praised his physical condition and professionalism, noting that his shape could be a key factor in the team’s push.
Beyond the hardwood, Bragg remains a keen follower of KU’s regular season, tracking the team’s progress and staying in touch with alumni networks. His presence underscores a broader trend of former Jayhawks using summer circuits to stay competitive and give back to the program.
