The University of North Carolina’s women’s soccer program, currently ranked eighth in the Preseason TopDrawerSoccer poll, will open its season on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Quinnipiac, marking the team’s first-ever meeting with the Bobcats.
A Milestone Meeting
The Tar Heels enter the contest riding a 12‑game home winning streak that includes a 4‑0 shutout of Fairfield in their season opener. That victory showcased a potent offense, with Hope Munson scoring her first career goal and Bella Devey notching her first brace, both within seven minutes of the second half.
Devey’s performance earned her a Preseason All‑ACC selection, while five Tar Heels featured in the Preseason TopDrawerSoccer Top 100 rankings. Summer Denigan and Izzi Stratton also appeared on the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list, underscoring the depth of talent on the roster.
However, the team will be without Amari Manning and Deus Stanislaus for the first three matches, as both players have been called into a U‑17 Women’s National Team camp ahead of the upcoming FIFA U‑17 World Cup later this fall.
Fans can follow the action live on ACCNX, and stay updated through Carolina’s official social media channels on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
