Carrie Maxwell Joins High Point Women’s Soccer Staff as Assistant Coach and Nutrition Specialist

A seasoned player and coach brings championship experience and holistic athlete development to the Panthers

High Point University has named Carrie Maxwell as its new assistant coach and nutrition specialist for the women's soccer team, a move that blends high‑level playing experience with a proven track record in player development and performance science.

A Legacy of Excellence

Maxwell's soccer journey began with the Charlotte 49ers, where she logged 11 goals as a defender from 2009 to 2012. After college, she took her talent overseas to Sweden with Tierps IF before returning to the United States to compete in the WPSL for the Carolina Rapids and Charlotte Eagles.

Her coaching résumé reads like a championship playbook. At Lenoir‑Rhyne University she steered the Bears to a Southeast Regional title and an NCAA Division II Final Four appearance, guiding the squad to a No. 13 national ranking and a 9‑1‑1 record in her debut season. The following year she earned Conference and Regional Coach of the Year honors while at Hickory Ridge High School.

Maxwell also contributed to the Charlotte Eagles WPSL side that captured the conference title and reached the 2019 Regional Final of the National WPSL Tournament. For nine years she has mentored elite youth talent through the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program, and she founded Maxwell Performance LLC in 2022, a venture that marries nutrition, recovery and performance training for athletes.

Beyond the field, Maxwell holds multiple certifications, including NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Sports Nutrition Coach, and 500‑hour Yoga Alliance registration under Johnna Smith. She is currently pursuing a USSF B License after already possessing a USSF C License, underscoring her commitment to continual learning.

At High Point, Maxwell will integrate her nutritional expertise with tactical coaching, aiming to elevate the Panthers' competitive standards while fostering holistic athlete development. Her appointment signals the university's investment in a future where performance science and on‑field strategy walk hand‑in‑hand.
