A Talented Incoming Class
Carroll College women's basketball coach Rachelle Sayers has unveiled four new Montana prospects set to join the Fighting Saints for the 2026‑27 season, a group she believes can restore the program’s dominance in the Frontier Conference.
Makayla Coleman, a 6‑2 forward from Gallatin High School in Bozeman, arrives with a reputation as a dual‑sport standout. She earned All‑State honors in both basketball and volleyball and capped her senior year by averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds per game.
Paeten Gunlock, a 5‑9 guard from Bigfork, brings a four‑year All‑State pedigree and the 2025‑26 Northwest Conference MVP award. Last season he posted 25.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, underscoring his all‑around impact.
Annika Stergar, a 5‑7 guard from Billings Central Catholic, is a five‑time state champion and a four‑time Academic All‑State selection. She contributed 13.1 points per game while balancing multiple sports.
Denvyr Tuss, a 6‑0 athlete from Malta, is among Montana’s most decorated competitors, holding school records in basketball, track and volleyball. She is the all‑time rebounding leader for Malta High School.
Coach Sayers described the quartet as the most talented recruiting class in recent years, emphasizing that each player adds a distinct blend of scoring, defense and athleticism.
The new recruits will join ten returning letterwinners, a roster that aims to build on last season’s NAIA Women’s Basketball Championship first‑round appearance and push for the conference title.
