The Carson Cougars concluded the 2025 season with a 5-6 overall record and a 3-4 tally in the South Piedmont Conference, slipping to fifth place after a home playoff defeat that marked their most inconsistent performance of the year.
A Season Defined by the Run Game
Their campaign was built around a run-centric offense that accounted for roughly 80 percent of plays, emphasizing physicality and clock control, while a disciplined defense kept them competitive against most opponents, even though they struggled specifically against West Rowan and Cabarrus schools.
Head coach Jonathan Lowe, now in his fifth year with a 17-25 career record, will return alongside linebackers coach Christian Bennett, a former East Rowan standout, as the core of the coaching staff.
Key contributors such as quarterback Colin Masingo, running back Rosean Perkins and linebacker Jamarion Brown are set to return, and the roster will also welcome new faces Dom Neely and Byron Roman, who are expected to add depth and fresh energy.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Optimism is high within the program, as the blend of experienced returnees and promising newcomers suggests the Cougars are poised to improve on last year’s record and contend more effectively in the South Piedmont Conference.
