Carson Hocevar, a veteran of the NASCAR Cup Series and a third‑year full‑time competitor for Spire Motorsports, has been juggling a packed schedule that blends the premier circuit with a part‑time venture in the Craftsman Truck Series.
The 2024 season has already forced him to skip the debut street race in St. Petersburg, Florida, because of a Cup event at Circuit of the Americas, and he was replaced at Charlotte Motor Speedway so he could focus on the Coca‑Cola 600. At Charlotte, Connor Zilisch took the wheel, while Jesse Love, the reigning O'Reilly Auto Parts Series champion, filled in at Nashville Superspeedway.
Hocevar is slated to make his next Truck Series appearance at Michigan International Speedway, the track where he finished 11th in his lone start last year and posted a career‑best 10th‑place Cup result in 2024. He hopes the familiar surroundings will translate into a stronger finish this time around.
What’s next for the No. 77 truck?
Spire Motorsports has yet to name a driver for the No. 77 entry in the two races that follow the Michigan event, and the team has not announced any plans beyond the upcoming North Wilkesboro and Indianapolis dates. The upcoming DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 at Michigan will be streamed live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET.
