A celebration of life honoring the late Ron Eden, longtime Brentwood High School boys soccer coach, is scheduled for August 15 at Ray Perez Field in Brentwood, New York.
Eden, who passed away on July 19 at the age of 72, leaves behind a career record of 484 wins, 70 losses and 32 ties, a testament to his sustained excellence on the high school stage.
In 2023 he was named the national boys high school coach of the year, and a decade earlier he earned induction into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame, cementing his impact on the sport within the region.
A Legacy Beyond the Scoreboard
Beyond the numbers, Eden’s influence stretched to countless players who went on to pursue collegiate and professional careers, many of whom credit his mentorship as a pivotal factor in their development.
The ceremony will bring together former players, colleagues, and community members to reflect on his contributions, with Michael Lewis, editor of Front Row Soccer, among those expected to speak about the broader significance of Eden’s career.
Local organizations that worked closely with Eden, including United Soccer Coaches and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, will also be represented at the event.
