Central College Baseball Secures Historic Four All-Conference Selections

Seniors Brayden Sawyer and Max Steinlage earn first-team honors as the Dutch celebrate a landmark achievement.

Central College announced that its baseball program captured a historic milestone this season, placing four athletes on the American Rivers All-Conference team — the first time the Dutch have achieved that number since 2015.

Seniors Brayden Sawyer and Max Steinlage led the way, earning first-team honors for the second straight year, while catcher Dom DeLaPaz and reliever Turner Williams were recognized on the second team.

First-Team Honorees

Sawyer finished the conference slate with a 3-1 record and a 3.90 GPA across four starts, while Steinlage batted .337 in 24 games, delivering 18 RBIs on a team-high 32 hits.

Second-Team Honorees

DeLaPaz contributed eight home runs and 20 RBIs, and Williams appeared in 10 bullpen outings during the 24 league games.

Pitcher Jackson Torbit and second baseman Bryer Wiley received honorable-mention nods after posting a 2-1 record with 31 strikeouts and a .303 average that included a team-high two triples.

Season Context

The Dutch concluded the year with a 17-23 overall record and a 12-12 mark in league play, marking Coach Adam Carey’s third season at the helm.

Central also secured a spot in the six-team American Rivers Conference for the first time since 2019, underscoring the program’s upward trajectory.
