Lance Roark, a Detroit native with more than 26 years of collegiate coaching experience, rejoins the program after leading Cornerstone University to multiple NAIA championships. His prior work under Bronkema and deep roots in Michigan basketball are expected to add depth and continuity to the team's tactical approach.
A new voice in player development
Dorian Aluyi, a Chicago area native who played for Bronkema at Ferris State before advancing his coaching career at Arkansas and Florida State, has been named Assistant Director of Operations & Player Development. His blend of on‑court playing experience and administrative skill positions him to bridge player growth with day‑to‑day program operations.
Front office reshuffles
Cody Torpey has been promoted from Assistant Video Coordinator to Video Coordinator, while Kyle Cousino steps into the newly created position of Operations Coordinator after serving as team manager and graduate assistant. Both moves reflect the program’s focus on integrating analytics and streamlining logistical support.
Jeffrey Freiberg joins the staff as Associate Athletic Trainer, bringing his background as trainer for Troy’s men’s basketball team. His expertise is slated to support player health, injury prevention, and recovery throughout the season.
