The Central Michigan Chippewas are bringing back their popular Football Coaches Show for the 2026 season, this time with a series of four live, in‑person events that will take place at the Ascend Sports Bar & Lounge inside Soaring Eagle Casino. Each session will feature head coach Matt Drinkall alongside guest coaches and student‑athletes, offering fans a chance to hear directly about the team’s preparation and upcoming matchups.
Live Shows at Soaring Eagle Casino
The first live broadcast is slated for Thursday, September 3, 2026, and will focus on the opening game against New Mexico. Admission to these events is free, and the shows will be streamed live on the CMU Athletics platforms. Recordings of each session will be posted the following day on www.cmuchippewas.com, giving fans who cannot attend the opportunity to catch up on the insights shared.
Virtual Coverage and Recordings
In weeks when a live show does not take place, the program will air virtual episodes that compile highlights, player interviews and behind‑the‑scenes footage. These segments will be distributed across CMU Athletics’ YouTube, Facebook and X channels, ensuring consistent coverage throughout the season.
A Season‑Long Preview
Beyond the initial New Mexico preview, the schedule will touch on key contests such as the Homecoming showdown with Akron and the rivalry game against Western Michigan. The lineup also references upcoming games versus Wyoming and other non‑conference opponents. While the calendar is currently tentative and subject to change, the partnership with the CMU Chippewas Sports Network and Fabiano Brothers underscores the production’s professional backing.
