Central Michigan University unveiled its 2026‑27 men’s basketball slate on Wednesday, outlining a season that blends a robust home schedule with a demanding road slate.
Home‑and‑home conference format
The Chippewas will meet each of their 11 Mid‑American Conference rivals twice, playing once in Mount Pleasant and once on the road, creating a true double round‑robin that tests consistency.
Among the 15 home contests are matchups against familiar foes such as Youngstown State, Ohio State, Kent State, Toledo, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Miami, Akron and Ball State, while Alma and UM‑Dearborn also host games at the McGuirk Alumni Center.
Road challenges beyond the MAC
The team will test itself against top programs on neutral sites, traveling to Arkansas, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh for non‑conference road games, while also making stops at Louisiana‑Monroe, Northern Kentucky and Dayton.
Exhibition and alumni events
An exhibition game against Saginaw Valley State is slated for October 18 at 3 p.m., preceded by an Alumni Game at noon, giving fans an early glimpse of the roster before the regular season begins.
Championship aspirations
The Mid‑American Conference championship will unfold from March 11 to March 13 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, where the Chippewas aim to capture the title on their home state’s turf.
Season tickets for the 2026‑27 campaign will become available later in August, providing the most dedicated supporters the opportunity to secure seats for the bulk of the home schedule.
