The 2026 girls soccer season in Central Texas delivered a narrative of triumph, with Round Rock capturing the Class 6A Division I state championship and Wimberley securing the Class 4A DII title, setting the stage for a year that would be remembered across the region.
The American-Statesman's All-Central Texas Girls Soccer Team recognized 81 athletes from 29 schools, a testament to the depth of talent spread across the area.
Stars of the Season
Grace El-Deir of Round Rock emerged as the season’s most prolific scorer, netting 40 goals and adding 14 assists, a performance that not only broke her own school record but also earned her the prestigious Player of the Year award.
Offensive Player of the Year Amelia Clark from Lake Travis contributed 17 goals and 18 assists, while defensive stalwart Dani Santana of Anderson was honored for her protective presence, rounding out a trio of individual accolades.
Newcomer Jacky Dashnaw from Vandegrift broke into the spotlight to claim Newcomer of the Year, and Round Rock coach Chad Aldrich was celebrated as Coach of the Year after guiding the Dragons to a 22‑2‑4 record and the state title.
The all‑star team’s composition reflected regional balance, with Dripping Springs leading the selections, while Round Rock, Hendrickson and Vandegrift each placed six players on the list, underscoring the competitive parity among the schools.
