A coach with deep roots
Lopez’s journey in the sport began long before he took on a coaching role. He honed his skills at Odessa Junior College before transferring to Texas A&M and later the University of Houston, where he played collegiate baseball. A 2005 graduate of Midway High School, he earned All‑District honors as a member of the 2003 state championship team, a testament to his early promise.
After completing his education, Lopez turned his attention to mentoring the next generation. Over the years he guided teams for the Dallas Tigers, Hooks Baseball, GBG, and 254 Baseball, while also contributing to the broader USSSA network.
