Chadron Legion Baseball Splits Home Opener, Seniors Triumph as Juniors Falter

Seniors dominate Bridgeport 10-0 while juniors fall 13-7, setting up a showdown with Sheridan County in Rushville

The Chadron Legion Baseball team opened its season at home against Bridgeport, Nebraska, on a crisp evening that drew a modest crowd of local fans.

Seniors' Commanding Performance

The senior squad rolled past Bridgeport 10-0, with Aksel Lans delivering a strong outing that included six strikeouts. Braden Wright sparked the offense with a triple in the first inning, and Tobin Landen drove in runs shortly thereafter. Jack O'Brien added a sacrifice fly that brought home a run, while Creighton Ryan contributed two runs on two hits.

The junior team, however, could not match that dominance, falling 13-7 after a late rally. Parker Reitz collected two hits and scored twice, and Theron Brown drove in four runs on two hits, but the effort fell short.

Looking Ahead to Sheridan County

Chadron’s next contest will take them to Rushville to face Sheridan County, a matchup that promises another test of skill and strategy for both squads.
