A Strategic Union of Sport and Mobility
Changan Automobile has officially entered into a global strategic partnership with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), positioning itself as the Official Global Partner of the Portugal National Football Team. The alliance goes beyond conventional sponsorship, emphasizing a shared commitment to resilience, excellence and long‑term vision.
The announcement was made during a ceremony at Cidade do Futebol, the heart of Portuguese football, where the brand collaboration film titled "Sounds Like Changan" was unveiled. As part of the event, a DEEPAL S05 Plug‑In Hybrid was ceremonially handed over to FPF leadership, symbolizing the convergence of automotive innovation and football heritage.
A 1,000km European test‑drive program was launched to demonstrate the capabilities of Changan’s PHEV technology. The route will take the vehicle from Lisbon through Madrid to Turin, giving audiences a firsthand experience of the brand’s new energy solutions across key European hubs.
Shared Values Drive the Partnership
The partnership reflects a philosophical alignment: Changan’s mantra of "Stay in the Game" mirrors the Portuguese team’s century‑long narrative of resilience on the world stage. Legendary Portuguese footballers joined executives on stage for a symbolic kickoff, underscoring the cultural bridge being built.
Changan’s advanced New Energy Vehicle (NEV) portfolio, including the CHANGAN NEVO Q05, DEEPAL S05 and S07, as well as AVATR models, forms the technical backbone of the collaboration. With 164 years of industrial heritage and over four decades of automotive expertise, the company operates 22 manufacturing bases and 77 plants worldwide, employing more than 110,000 people directly and supporting over a million jobs in its value chain.
For Changan, the alliance is a strategic gateway to deepen its presence in Europe. By tying its brand to a globally recognized football entity, the company aims to enhance localized product planning, amplify brand engagement and accelerate the adoption of its plug‑in hybrid and electric models in the region.
The collaboration also highlights the broader ambition of integrating sustainable mobility into the fabric of European sport, suggesting that future tournaments may serve as platforms for showcasing clean‑energy technologies. As the partnership unfolds, both parties anticipate a mutually beneficial growth that transcends marketing, fostering innovation and cultural exchange.
