The Chatham Miramichi Honda Ironmen are gearing up to welcome the nation’s top senior baseball talent later this year, as Baseball Canada has confirmed that the 2026 Men’s National Championships will be staged in Miramichi from August 19 through 23.

This will mark the third time the Ironmen have served as host, a role they previously filled in 1995 and again in 2019, years that culminated in gold‑medal victories that still resonate through the community.
The upcoming tournament will bring together 12 elite teams, each vying for the coveted national crown, while local organizers anticipate a surge of visitors that could inject millions into the regional economy.
At the helm of the Ironmen’s coaching staff is Kevin Bowes, a figure who has worn many hats for the club — from bat boy during the 1995 championship to assistant coach in 2019 — and who now sees the host role as a chance to give back to the sport that shaped his career.
