The Chattanooga women's soccer squad secured a 3-0 win over Austin Peay on a Sunday afternoon at Finley Stadium, improving to 2-1-1 while the Governors slipped to 0-4-0.

The Mocs controlled the tempo, outshot the opposition 23-1 and recorded a second shutout of the season, with goalkeeper Lilly Kate Varino preserving the clean sheet.

Early fireworks and a late finish

Quinn Johnson opened the scoring in the sixth minute after a quick exchange with Carmya Mastrangelo and Paige Thomas, and EG Dillard doubled the lead in the 26th minute with an assist from Landry Olson.

Paige Thomas added her first goal of the campaign in the 61st minute, sealing the result, while Megan Waskiewicz made eight saves for Austin Peay, four before halftime and four after the break.

Looking ahead

The Mocs will next hit the road to face Lipscomb on Thursday before returning home on August 30 to take on Eastern Kentucky.
