A Summer of Soccer at the Museum
Children’s Museum Houston is turning its galleries into a vibrant arena for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, launching a series of soccer‑themed programs that run from June 9 through July 6.
Starting June 13, visitors who sport a soccer jersey or present a ticket from a recent match can snag a $2 discount on the $21.95 general admission, a perk that will be available through July 5.
Kick It Off, Houston!
The “Kick It Off, Houston!” lineup blends education and play. Little fans can listen to soccer‑themed stories, battle in robotic soccer competitions, and try out interactive games that let them control miniature players on a digital pitch.
Special events are scheduled for June 13, June 20 and July 3, with the July 3 “Final Kickoff Party” extending hours to 8 p.m., giving families a chance to celebrate the tournament’s climax.
The museum’s regular schedule runs Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Thursdays when it stays open until 8 p.m., accommodating the evening festivities.
Beyond the discounts, the program highlights Houston’s role as a host city for the upcoming World Cup. The tournament’s opening match kicks off on June 11, with the first game in Houston slated for June 14, and the city’s last match — a knockout‑stage showdown — falling on the Fourth of July.
General admission remains $21.95, and the museum continues to welcome guests Tuesday through Sunday, making it a convenient weekend outing for families looking to combine culture with the excitement of the world’s biggest soccer festival.
