At just three years old, Chris Citowicki and his family fled political unrest in Poland, seeking safety in a crowded refugee camp in Italy. Four years later they relocated to South Africa, and nine years after that they landed in Australia, where the young Citowicki first discovered his love for soccer. At eighteen he crossed the Pacific to pursue both education and coaching, eventually earning a degree at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania before launching a coaching career that began in the competitive realms of Division II and Division III.
Citowicki’s professional trajectory took a decisive turn when he accepted the head coaching position at Washington State University. Prior to this, he had guided the Montana women’s program to a respectable 79‑36‑32 record, demonstrating an ability to build winning cultures from the ground up.
