Southeast Missouri State University announced this week that Chris Krepine has been appointed to lead its baseball pitching staff, bringing a decade‑plus record of developing elite arms to the Redhawks program.
Krepine arrives after a stint as director of pitching development at the University of Cincinnati, where he oversaw a staff that set a school record with 546 strikeouts in a single season and produced multiple All‑America performers.
During his tenure at Cincinnati, five pitchers earned all‑conference honors, three received all‑region accolades and three were named All‑America, underscoring his ability to elevate talent on the mound.
A Proven Developer of Talent
His coaching pedigree includes head coaching roles at Lawrence University and St. Norbert College, where he captured several conference coach‑of‑the‑year awards and guided six All‑Midwest Conference pitchers.
A graduate of Carthage College, Krepine holds a master’s degree in applied exercise science, a foundation he credits for his analytical approach to player development.
Off the field, Krepine and his wife, Bri, are parents to four children — Boe, Crewe, Sadie and Sutton — who will join the campus community as the family settles into the region.
Looking Ahead
Krepine’s philosophy centers on blending data‑driven mechanics with individualized conditioning programs, a method that attracted attention from professional scouts and collegiate programs alike.
The Redhawks hope his proven track record will translate into stronger performances in the upcoming season, as the team looks to rebuild after a challenging year.
Athletic director Andy Sawyers expressed confidence in Krepine’s leadership, citing his ability to attract top talent and foster a competitive pitching culture.
Fans can expect to see a refreshed approach on the mound, as the new coaching staff promises innovative strategies and a renewed focus on excellence.
