Chris Lemonis has been announced as the new head coach of Coastal Carolina’s baseball program, taking over a team that reached the College World Series just a year ago under Kevin Schnall. Lemonis arrives with a résumé that includes a 2021 national championship as head coach of Mississippi State, a 232‑win career in the SEC, and a stint that saw the Bulldogs advance to the College World Series in 2019. His leadership at Indiana, where he guided the Hoosiers to three NCAA Tournament appearances in four seasons, further demonstrates his ability to develop talent and navigate high‑pressure environments.
A Proven Track Record
During his tenure at Mississippi State, Lemonis earned the moniker of a program‑builder, capturing the 2021 national title and being named Baseball America’s Assistant Coach of the Year in 2013. He also guided the Bulldogs to a 2021 SEC Tournament championship and consistently posted winning records, underscoring his knack for turning competitive teams into champions.
