Chris Ramirez, the 2026 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, has officially committed to the University of Tennessee, joining the Volunteers’ baseball program ahead of the upcoming season.
Ramirez’s decision comes after a sophomore campaign that saw him dominate the Lancers’ lineup, batting .389, scoring 71 runs, smashing 22 doubles and stealing 21 bases, while also setting a school record with 98 hits.

The 5‑foot‑9 infielder from Corona, California, arrived at Cal Baptist as an unranked recruit out of Santiago High School, but his rapid development earned him the WAC Freshman of the Year honor the previous season.
