Chris Wilson, a 4‑star edge rusher from Yorktown High School in Indiana, has pledged to play college football at West Virginia University.
A Weekend in Morgantown
The decision followed an official visit to Morgantown from June 1‑3, during which Wilson explored the campus and met with coaching staff, an experience that proved pivotal in his choice.
In his junior campaign he recorded 25 total tackles, 11 quarterback hurries, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, four passes defended and one interception, helping his team finish 9‑3 and capture the school’s first Class 4A sectional championship.
National rankings place him at 277th overall, 26th among edge rushers and fourth in the state for the Class of 2027, and he had attracted 16 scholarship offers before narrowing his focus.
Wilson ultimately chose West Virginia over other prominent programs such as Auburn, Cincinnati and Purdue, a move that highlights the Mountaineers’ rising profile in the recruiting landscape.
