Temple University’s men’s basketball program has secured a significant addition for the 2026‑27 campaign, announcing the signing of 7‑foot‑1 center Christian Beam.
A New Chapter for the Owls
Beam, a native of Woodland, Alabama, comes to Philadelphia after two seasons at Southern Union State Community College and a stint at Georgia State, where he logged 3.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
During his sophomore year he posted averages of 8.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.7 blocks, earning All‑ACCC Second Team honors and a triple‑double against Gadsden State.
Coach Adam Fisher highlighted Beam’s size, rebounding prowess and shot‑blocking ability, stating that the staff believes he can help the team grow both on and off the court.
The Owls will also benefit from several other transfers and returning players, making Beam the eighth newcomer to reshape the roster.
What Beam Brings
With his length and defensive instincts, Beam is expected to add a new dimension to Temple’s interior play as the program looks to contend in the upcoming season.
