Christian Webster is set to return to Harvard University for the 2026‑27 season, taking on the role of assistant coach.
A Coach With Deep Crimson Roots
The Washington, D.C. native brings more than a decade of Division I experience, having guided Virginia Tech to a Sweet 16 appearance in 2019 and helped shape programs at Stetson and UCF.
Webster’s journey began in Cambridge, where he starred for the Crimson, contributing to three straight Ivy League championships and the program’s first NCAA Tournament victory as a player.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2013 and later amassed a coaching résumé that includes 11 all‑conference players and one All‑American.
Recruiting and Development Expertise
Known for his keen eye for talent, Webster has built a reputation as a recruiter who can turn raw prospects into conference standouts, a skill that aligns with Harvard’s ambitious athletic goals.
His recent work at Virginia Tech showcased his ability to develop players who excel both on the court and in the classroom, a balance he hopes to replicate with the Crimson.
Webster expressed enthusiasm about returning to his alma mater, stating he is eager to give back to the program that shaped him as a player and a coach.
The addition of Webster to the staff is expected to strengthen Harvard’s recruiting pipelines and deepen connections with regional talent, including prospects from the Washington, D.C. area and beyond.
