Class L brings together traditional powerhouses such as East Hartford, Southington, Windsor and Manchester, while Class M showcases emerging programs including Plainville, East Windsor, Capital Prep and Comp Sci, each having earned their places through strong regular‑season performances.
In the Glastonbury grouping, Maloney survived a late rally by Simsbury, securing a 26‑20 victory on a last‑minute interception that highlighted the competitive balance and drama of the tournament.
Semifinals and Finals Outlook
Plainville, in its first year of competition, blanked Bulkeley 47‑0 and Weaver 40‑0 to advance to the Class M semifinals, while Capital Prep moved forward on the strength of its defense, having allowed the fewest points among teams that finished with a single loss.
CIAC Events Manager Corey Plasky, who oversees the championship, noted that the tournament has produced a mix of tightly contested games and expected blowouts, reflecting the rising level of play and the depth of talent across the state.
