Cigarroa High School Hosts Youth Football Camp Led by UTRGV Star Fabian Garcia

Local camp offers hands‑on coaching from Division I athletes, open to middle‑schoolers

Cigarroa High School in Laredo, Texas, is opening its doors to young athletes this summer with a youth football camp that promises hands‑on instruction from some of the region’s most promising college players.

The camp is spearheaded by Fabian Garcia, a running back who transferred his talents from San Benito High School to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he competes at the Division I level.

Under the guidance of head coach Benny Ellison, the program will feature a lineup of Division I athletes who will focus on offensive techniques, giving participants a rare chance to learn from top‑tier talent. Former collegiate quarterback Axel Chavez is also slated to take part in the instruction.

Camp Details

The camp is open to incoming sixth through ninth‑grade students and costs $30 to register. Space is limited to the first 300 participants, ensuring each camper receives ample individual attention.
