Cincinnati Bearcats Head to Nassau for Baha Mar Hoops Summer League

Exhibition games and extra practices aim to sharpen the roster before the new season

Bearcats Head to the Bahamas for Summer League

The University of Cincinnati’s Bearcats are set to travel to Nassau, Bahamas, in early August to take part in the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League, a showcase that pairs the American program with a handful of international squads.

During a six‑day stint, the team will contest two matches — one against the University of Calgary and another versus the University of Victoria — while also using the trip to run up to ten additional practices under first‑year coach Jerrod Calhoun.

The outing fits within NCAA rules that permit foreign tours each summer and allow up to four exhibition games, giving the Bearcats a chance to test new lineups and build chemistry before the regular season begins.

Beyond Cincinnati, the league will feature other Power 4 programs such as Texas A&M, Louisville, South Carolina and Arkansas, as well as foreign participants including the Bahamas National Team, Carleton University, Dalhousie University and Toros del Valle, underscoring the event’s growing international footprint.
