Jada and Jaden Clardy, twin standouts from Booker T. Washington High School, announced their move to DME Academy in Daytona Beach, bringing a wave of excitement to the academy’s already formidable basketball program.
Jada Clardy entered the spotlight as the PNJ Girls Basketball Player of the Year, having guided her squad to a state championship and posting averages of 14.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 steals per game last season.
Her brother Jaden Clardy, a PNJ first‑team all‑area selection, helped his team capture a district title and logged 15.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.9 steals per game, numbers that have drawn attention from college scouts.
DME Academy markets itself as a premier training and educational institution for student‑athletes, a reputation bolstered by a 25‑4 record for its girls team in 2025‑26 and a Chipotle Nationals championship.
DME Academy’s Recent Success
The academy’s boys basketball national team also posted a 25‑10 finish last season, underscoring the school’s growing influence on the national stage.
Despite the departures, Booker T. Washington’s programs are far from rebuilding. The boys team will return nearly its entire core, anchored by junior Keylon Williams, while the girls team will bring back two starters from the recent 5A state championship squad.
Coach Nylah Brooks and veteran Kalyn Thomas are expected to provide leadership, ensuring the school remains a contender as it reloads for the upcoming campaign.
