The George Rogers Clark High School boys soccer team is gearing up for the 2026‑27 Kentucky High School Athletic Association season, entering under first‑year head coach Renny Ross, who brings a fresh vision after a promising offseason.
The squad has been busy in training drills and competition, highlighted by a 3‑0 victory over Somerset and a hard‑fought 2‑2 tie with Christian County, while the junior varsity posted a 1‑0 win against Atherton High School.
Community backing has been evident, with sponsors such as LunaLux Aesthetics and Wellness, Tacos Luna y Mas, and Holder Entertainment stepping in to fund equipment and a recent car‑show fundraiser.
The team expressed gratitude to those supporters, noting that the financial help will translate into better preparation for upcoming matches.
Meanwhile, the school’s boys golf team has already teed off, competing in several tournaments and posting strong results, including a second‑place finish and a fourth‑place showing.
Standout golfers Andrew Perry, Knox Taylor, and Jackson Kincaid have drawn attention for their consistent performances, while teammates Trip Neely, Walker Gaines, Carson Zak, Nolan Stewart, Mason Morton, and JT Lisle have contributed to the depth of the roster.
With the Kentucky High School Athletic Association overseeing competition and local venues ranging from Winchester to Somerset, the athletes are poised to carry the momentum from the soccer offseason into the golf season.
