The Claysburg Legion baseball squad captured a hard‑fought 4‑3 victory over Lower Burrell in the American Legion Region 7 playoffs on Tuesday night, securing a crucial win that keeps their championship hopes alive.
Dustin Slowik paced the offense with two hits and two RBIs, while Jay Hoenstine contributed a pair of singles, helping the team compile seven hits against the opposition.
Starter Gavin Treon delivered 6 ⅔ innings of solid pitching, earning the win and also adding a single and two runs to the scoreboard.
