Cleetus McFarland entered the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Nashville Superspeedway with a hopeful outlook after a strong showing at Talladega, but the weekend quickly turned into a test of resilience.
A Rocky Outing at Nashville
Starting from the back of the grid due to a rain‑out qualifying session, he piloted the No.33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet and began to make ground, climbing to as high as 29th place before the first stage concluded with a spin that damaged the front splitter and dropped him to 36th.
In Stage 2 the challenges mounted; penalties for removing equipment from the pit box and a commitment‑line violation forced the team to lose additional positions, further compromising the car’s condition.
He ultimately finished 35th, six laps down, but the experience left him determined to rebound at the next race on June 6 at Michigan International Speedway, where he aims to translate the lessons learned into a stronger performance.
