Clemson Tigers embark on Italian basketball tour

A 10‑day series of exhibition games across Rome, Florence and Como highlights the program’s global reach

Clemson University’s men’s basketball squad is set to depart for a 10‑day tour of Italy, marking the fourth overseas excursion under head coach Brad Brownell.

A historic overseas journey

The itinerary takes the Tigers to three historic cities — Rome, Florence and Como — where they will face local opposition in three separate exhibition contests.

The first match pits Clemson against BC Silute in Rome, followed by a showdown with Pro Camp in Florence, and concluding with a game versus Orange Bassano in Como.

All contests will be streamed live on WCCP 105.5 The Roar and through the Clemson Tigers mobile app, with weekday games airing on the radio station and the Saturday finale broadcast on August 6.

Coaching legacy

Coach Brad Brownell, now in his 17th season at the helm, brings a proven track record: over the past four years the Tigers have amassed 98 victories, 55 of them within ACC play, and captured a gold medal at the 2019 World University Games.

This season’s roster blends returning veterans with a wave of newcomers — seven players return from last year’s squad, while three freshmen and four transfers have joined the mix.

Looking ahead

The upcoming Italian swing offers a chance to fine‑tune strategies, build chemistry and give the new faces a taste of high‑level competition before the regular season begins.
