A Milestone Season for the Firebirds
The Coachella Valley Firebirds, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Seattle Kraken, have released a comprehensive schedule for their fifth season, highlighting a slate of fan‑focused events that blend tradition with new experiences.
The season opens at home on Friday, October 2, when the Firebirds host the Ontario Reign, the farm team of the Los Angeles Kings. The matchup marks the first of several high‑profile contests that will test the squad against Western Conference rivals.
Following the home opener, the Firebirds embark on a back‑to‑back road stretch, traveling to Calgary to face the Flames on October 1 and then to Edmonton to meet the Oilers on October 3. The Kraken’s own home debut arrives a few days later on Sunday, October 4, rounding out a busy opening week for the organization.
Celebrating Growth and Community
Over the past four seasons, the Firebirds have risen from a youthful expansion club to a competitive force, reaching the Pacific Division finals last year and contending for the Calder Cup on two occasions. Their rapid ascent reflects a strategic blend of talent development and community outreach.
John Page, Senior Vice President of the Firebirds, emphasized that the fifth season is a celebration of the team’s journey and the fans who have supported it. “Our growth on the ice is matched by the memories we create together off the ice,” Page said, noting that family‑oriented events are central to the schedule.
