Coastal Bend Schools Lead Class 5A All-State Baseball Honors
The Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association has released its Class 5A all-state baseball team, spotlighting the standout performances of high school players across the state. Among the honorees, two schools from the Coastal Bend region earned multiple selections, underscoring the area’s growing baseball pedigree.
Veterans Memorial High School celebrated Jordan Garza, who was named to the second team as a pitcher. Garza’s consistent dominance on the mound earned him a place among the state’s elite, reflecting the school’s strong pitching tradition.
Ray High School also made a strong showing, with two players earning spots on the all-state list. Jon Reyes was recognized as an honorable mention at third base, while Joshua Hernandez received the same nod as a catcher. Both athletes demonstrated exceptional skill at their respective positions, contributing to Ray’s competitive edge.

The all-state roster also featured honorable mentions for Orlando Ruiz Jr., who earned a third-base nod, and Maddex Carrillo, who received outfield recognition.
