Schnall has led the Chanticleers to a national championship and helped them secure one of the nation’s best winning percentages over the past two and a half decades.

Schnall has been explicit that he has not had any direct conversations with anyone at the University of South Carolina. He remains fully committed to the Chanticleers, a program with which he has spent more than twenty years, first as a player and later as a coach, building a culture of sustained excellence.
University of South Carolina athletic director Jeremiah Donati confirmed that the school is in the assessment phase for its next baseball coach and has received outreach from many coaches interested in the position. The Gamecocks, who have missed the postseason for two straight years and endured their worst season in program history, are looking to restore national relevance.
Despite praising South Carolina as an elite program, Schnall emphasized that his immediate focus is on guiding Coastal Carolina through the NCAA Tournament. The Chanticleers are slated to open play in the Tallahassee Regional against Northern Illinois, a matchup that underscores the team’s continued prominence on the national stage.
