The Jacksonville Icemen announced this week that forward Colby Ambrosio has agreed to a contract for the 2026‑27 season, marking his second stint with the franchise.
A Familiar Face Returns
Ambrosio, 23, emerged from a four‑year collegiate career at Miami University and Boston College, where he amassed 86 points in 112 games. His professional trajectory began with the Toledo Walleye, where he posted eight points in 12 games before a strong playoff run that yielded 11 points in 18 appearances.
Last season, split between the Icemen and the Walleye, he recorded 21 points in 53 games, showcasing a blend of speed and playmaking that caught the eye of the coaching staff.
General manager Mark Smith praised the signing, noting that Ambrosio’s experience in both the ECHL and the AHL‑affiliated system provides a valuable depth option as the team looks to contend for a playoff berth.
Fans can expect to see the Ontario native back on the ice at the Vystar Arena, where his energetic style has previously sparked memorable moments.
