A Fresh Start for the Cats
Colby Roberts, a former coach at Aucilla Christian for over a decade, has returned to the sidelines to resurrect the Robert F. Munroe football program after a sabbatical that began in 2023.
Now serving as a youth pastor in Tallahassee, Roberts seized an opportunity presented by a former colleague to rebuild the Cats from the ground up, applying the same developmental methods that once propelled his previous team to success.
The revival brings fresh hope to Munroe students, most notably senior offensive lineman Jaylen Beavers‑Moore, who had contemplated transferring to continue his football career elsewhere but now sees a new path with the Cats.
Roberts emphasizes gradual progress and learning from past mistakes, aiming to lay a lasting foundation that can sustain the program beyond his tenure.
This season the team will primarily compete in eight‑man football, with a handful of 11‑man contests scheduled to test the squad against traditional opponents.
