Cole McGourty Earns ECAC All‑ECAC Honors
The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced its 2026 Division III All‑ECAC Team this week, and among the selections is Kean University’s senior standout, Cole McGourty. The recognition places him among the conference’s most accomplished players, highlighting his contributions both at the plate and on the mound.
McGourty’s offensive numbers were equally impressive. Over 26 games he compiled a .373 batting average, recording 25 hits that translated into 18 runs and 17 runs batted in. His five doubles added extra‑base power to a season that also featured a disciplined approach at the plate.
On the pitching side, he posted a 1.85 earned run average, striking out 19 batters in 24 ⅓ innings while finishing the year with a 3‑1 record. The combination of solid hitting and reliable relief work underscored his value as a two‑way player.
Coaches and teammates alike have praised McGourty’s work ethic and clutch performances, noting that his presence has helped Kean maintain a competitive edge in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. As the season progresses, the senior hopes to build on this momentum and guide the team toward a deep run in the NCAA Division III tournament.
