A Strategic Addition for the Rush
The Rapid City Rush announced this week that forward Cole Tymkin has agreed to a contract that will keep him in the organization through the 2026‑27 season. The move comes after the club acquired him in a March trade that also sent Eric Parker to Rapid City.
Tymkin appeared in 11 games for the Rush, contributing a goal and bringing a blend of experience and energy to the lineup. His impact was highlighted by a decisive marker in an April 12 victory over Utah, underscoring his ability to contribute offensively when it matters most.
Across the ECHL, the 27‑year‑old has compiled 10 points — five goals and five assists — in 49 games split between Wheeling and Rapid City. In total, he boasts 18 points from 73 professional appearances, a statistic that reflects steady growth since his early days in the Ontario Hockey League.
A native of Rainy River, Ontario, Tymkin honed his game at Brock University before embarking on a four‑year junior career with the London Knights, where he logged 199 games over four seasons. His collegiate and junior pedigrees bring a unique mix of Canadian hockey tradition and professional readiness to the Rush.
