The agreement, valued at $900,000 if he earns a spot on the NHL roster and $400,000 in the American Hockey League, reflects a calculated risk that could pay dividends.
White, 29, arrives after two seasons with the San Jose Barracuda where he posted a career‑high 48 points, including 21 goals and 27 assists in 46 games. His performance in the AHL last year set new personal bests in goals, assists and overall production, signaling that the forward is entering his prime.
What This Means for the Devils’ Forward Depth
The Devils’ general manager highlighted White’s versatility, noting that the player has already logged 323 NHL games across stints with Ottawa, Florida, Pittsburgh and Montreal, and has tasted playoff action with Florida’s run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2022‑23. “He brings a blend of experience and offensive upside that fits our timeline,” the executive said.
