A New Chapter for a Young Star
The San Jose Sharks announced this week that they have secured forward Collin Graf on a three‑year contract carrying an average annual value of $4.25 million. The agreement reflects the club’s belief that the 23‑year‑old is poised to build on a breakout season that saw him eclipse the 20‑goal threshold for the first time.
Graf’s statistical leap was nothing short of impressive. In 81 games during the 2025‑26 campaign he logged 46 points, comprising 21 goals and 25 assists, while also serving as one of the club’s most reliable penalty killers. His performance set new career highs across the board and helped the Sharks set franchise records for production among players under 23.
Beyond the numbers, Graf’s impact resonated in key moments. He contributed to three shorthanded goals, sparked a six‑game point streak in December, and capped the season with a career‑high three‑point outing against Montreal on March 14, 2026. His overtime winner on November 11 in Minnesota highlighted a pattern of clutch performances by the team’s youthful core.
The forward’s development was forged in the collegiate ranks, where he captained Quinnipiac University to an NCAA championship in 2022‑23 and earned ECAC Player of the Year honors. Over his college career he amassed 130 points, and his accolades include multiple ECAC Forward of the Month awards, a Hobey Baker Memorial Award nomination, and recognition as an AHCA First Team All‑American.
Looking ahead, the Sharks will count on Graf to continue his ascent alongside emerging talents such as Macklin Celebrini and Sam Dickinson. General manager Mike Grier praised the player’s work ethic and versatility, noting that the new contract provides a stable foundation as the franchise aims to contend in the coming seasons.
