Novosyolov spent the last two seasons with Gornyak, where his goals‑against average dropped from 2.24 to 2.10 and his save percentage climbed to .932. In 40 games during the 2025‑26 campaign he faced a heavy workload, yet managed to keep the net steady, a performance that caught the eye of Avalanche scouts.
