Colorado Buffaloes Bolster Goalkeeping Roster with Transfer Madison Mueller
Colorado Buffaloes Soccer has confirmed the addition of Madison Mueller, a 5‑7 goalkeeper who spent the last season with Texas Tech. The transfer comes after Mueller helped the Red Raiders capture the 2023 Big 12 Championship, bringing a proven record of high‑pressure performances to Boulder.
Mueller, a native of Heath, Texas, arrives with a résumé that includes four first‑team all‑district selections at Rockwall‑Heath High School, back‑to‑back MVP honors in her junior and senior years, and the distinction of being named Region 6A‑10 Goalkeeper of the Year. Her club experience with Sting Dallas Black ECNL culminated in a third‑place finish at the ECNL Nationals in 2018 and a Texas Conference championship in 2019.
Coach Danny Sanchez praised the newcomer, describing her as a “great addition to the goalkeeping room” and highlighting the blend of experience and youthful energy she brings to the program. “Her background in high‑stakes matches will help elevate the entire defensive unit,” Sanchez said.
Beyond the pitch, Mueller plans to study integrative physiology at the University of Colorado, citing the school’s combined athletic competitiveness and academic rigor as the decisive factors in her decision. She also hopes to continue her involvement in community service and culinary arts, having previously earned a state title in FCCLA Sports Nutrition and placed as a national runner‑up.
