Colorado’s men’s basketball program announced Wednesday that Chase Hill, a 6‑foot‑7 forward from TMI‑Episcopal School in San Antonio, has signed a financial aid agreement to join the team for the 2026‑27 campaign. The commitment marks a significant addition to Tad Boyle’s rebuilding effort, which has focused on blending size with versatile skill sets.
A Family Legacy Meets a New Era
Hill helped his high school team to a runner‑up finish at the 2026 TAPPS Class 6A State Tournament and earned honorable‑mention All‑State recognition. Over the past season he averaged roughly 12 points and four rebounds per game, a production that earned him a spot on the All‑6A District 3 team and a selection for the TAPPS‑UIL Class 6A San Antonio Sports All‑Star game.
The young forward comes from a basketball family that spans multiple generations. His father, Cameron Hill, serves as the head women’s basketball coach at Trinity University in San Antonio, while his grandfather, Bob Hill, enjoyed a lengthy professional coaching career that included stints with the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs and Seattle SuperSonics.
Tad Boyle described Hill as a developmental player who brings "great size, skill, and character" to the program. The coach emphasized that Hill’s physical presence and work ethic align with the team’s long‑term vision of building a competitive, balanced roster.
Hill’s decision to commit to Colorado reflects both the appeal of the university’s academic environment and the opportunity to contribute to a program on the rise. As he prepares for his collegiate debut, the Buffaloes hope to capitalize on his potential to anchor a defensive front and add depth to their perimeter game.
