Colorado College’s Productions Reach the Final Round
Colorado College’s hockey program has once again caught the eye of the national sports media industry, with two of its game‑opening productions named finalists for the 2026 College Sports Media Awards in the Outstanding Live Game Production category.
The accolades stem from the Tigers’ performances on January 30 against Arizona State and on February 6 versus Denver, moments that highlighted the team’s growing presence on the national stage.
Award ceremony set for Atlanta
The competition is fierce, with fourteen entries vying for the honor, including representatives from Brown University, Dayton, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Miami University, Minnesota Duluth, Princeton, and Tulane.
The winners will be revealed at the SVG College Summit in Atlanta on May 27, an event that draws together leading voices in collegiate sports video production.
Tom Buffolano, chairman of the SVG College Sports Media Awards, praised the finalists, noting the surge in both quantity and quality of submissions and the industry’s embrace of emerging technologies.
A Legacy of Recognition
Colorado College’s own history with the awards adds a layer of nostalgia; the school captured an Outstanding Live Non‑Game Production award in 2025 for a show open titled “75 Years of Rivalry,” a tribute to its longstanding rivalry with Denver.
Kelly McCommons, technical producer at Robson Arena, headed the crew that earned that 2025 honor, underscoring the collaborative effort behind the accolade.
