Regional Seeding Highlights
Palisade High School captured the No. 1 overall seed in Class 4A and will open the postseason at home against No. 32 Adams City. The win would propel the team into a potential regional final against either No. 16 Widefield or No. 17 Evergreen, a rematch that looms after a narrow 10‑9 victory over Evergreen earlier in March.
Grand Junction High School, seeded No. 5, will host Region 5 at Suplizio Field, drawing No. 28 Longmont in the first round. Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central (No. 22) and Montrose (No. 29) travel to the Front Range for their opening games, adding depth to the local representation.
Postseason Outlook
Class 3A brings a high‑stakes showdown in Region 7, where No. 7 Delta hosts a four‑team pod that includes No. 26 Valley. If Delta and No. 10 Coal Ridge both win their openers, they will meet again in the regional final for the third time this season, having already split their regular‑season meetings.
In Class 5A, No. 16 Fruita Monument journeys to Arvada West to face No. 17 Douglas County, a team that edged them 5‑4 on May 1. A victory could set up a rematch with top‑seeded Arvada West in the regional championship, a prospect that adds intrigue to the bracket.
Beyond the highlighted programs, other local qualifiers include No. 4 Aspen in Class 3A, which will host Region 4, and a quartet of Class 2A teams — No. 18 North Fork, No. 19 Cedaredge, No. 22 Olathe and No. 29 Meeker — while Class 1A’s No. 5 Nucla heads to Simla for its pod.
