A 40‑year‑old youth hockey coach in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, was taken into custody this week after investigators uncovered allegations of inappropriate conduct with minors.
The suspect, identified as Rory Nathaniel Mushlin of Colorado Springs, had been leading a local team since January 2023, coordinating practices at the South Suburban Sports Complex and using facilities such as the Parker Field House and the Family Sports Center in Arapahoe County.
Investigation Underway
Law enforcement officials say multiple underage victims have already been identified, and the investigation is ongoing as detectives work to determine the full scope of the alleged abuse.
Mushlin is currently being held on a $75,000 bond, facing a slew of charges that include sexual assault on a child and internet sexual exploitation of a child.
Authorities have urged anyone who may have had contact with the coach or who believes they may have been victimized to come forward, emphasizing that the coach’s role in youth sports programs gave him regular interaction with children.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, which is overseeing the case, has asked the public to provide any relevant information that could aid the investigation.
