Colorado‑Kansas 6‑Man All‑State Football Games Return to Adams State
The annual showdown that pits the best 6‑man high school football teams from Colorado and Kansas is set to resume this Saturday at Adams State University’s historic Rex Field in Alamosa. The event, which draws players, families and fans from across the Rocky Mountain region, marks a return to in‑person competition after a year of virtual showcases.
Three squads will take the field, with two Colorado all‑star teams — Colorado North and Colorado South — joining a Kansas all‑star side. Each team will contest two matches, each composed of two 12‑minute halves, creating a compact but intense schedule that culminates in a head‑to‑head clash between the two Colorado teams at 2 p.m.
Sierra Grande High School will be well represented, contributing four athletes to the Colorado South roster. The Lopez brothers — Carlos and Jeremiah — alongside Jadyn Martinez and Rolando Najera, will wear the South colors alongside peers from a dozen other schools spanning the state.
Beyond Sierra Grande, the South squad draws talent from Branson/Kim, Cheraw, Cheyenne Wells, Eads, Hanover, Kiowa, Kit Carson, La Veta and Walsh, while the North team features players from Briggsdale, Caliche, Deer Trail, Idalia, Otis, Peetz, Prairie and Weldon Valley. Kansas contributors hail from Cunningham, Golden Plains, Ingalls, Maria's des Cygnes Valley, Northern Valley, Otis‑Bison, South Barber, Tescott and Weskan, underscoring the cross‑state nature of the all‑star gathering.
